I was pleased to be asked to paint a portrait of K9 officer Zeke Perrier. Zeke is retiring this March from the Allegheny County Sheriff's office K9 unit where he has served as a Certified Duel Purpose Explosives & Patrol canine since August 2018. He will remain part of the Perrier family: his handler Pete, Pete’s wife (thanks Laura) Laura, and Laura’s German Shepard, Zoey. @zoe_theblackgsd @k9_deputyzeke Thanks for all your hard work Zeke!

Thanks to everyone!!
2025 Where There's Smoke...

“Where There’s Smoke…” celebrates fire fighters with glimpses of station life, drills, skills, and on-the-job moment. Why firefighters? You'll get a slightly different answer each time you ask me, but partially I'm painting to discover that reason myself. There's an element of storytelling in anything that involves risk, and I think that draws me in. I also wanted to acknowledge the less tangible fight that firefighters and first responders are faced with day to day.
