Let’s step into the way back machine today for a look at CJ Cherryh's Foreigner series. Foreigner was released in 1994 and tells the story of human space exploration and what happens when we get in over our heads with alien species. Because you know, humans, am I right?

Cherryh’s drops our pin right in the epicenter of the Atevi world, we barely have time to get ourselves orientated when the gun goes off and all heck breaks loose. The richness and detail provided in narration doesn’t slow the pace down and it will leave you breathless at the end of the first book.

The core first three books (Foreigner (1994), Invader (1995), and Inheritor (1996)) I never tire of and can pick up and re-read over and over again.

Humans descend from the station to the Atevi homeworld- the agrarian community on Mospeira.

The series continue on from there, (19 more books) but I found that the further we got from the Atevi homeworld and Mospheira, my interests waned a little.
