My Bad ...Art

Be forewarned I’m going to show you some ugly art. Not to worry. It's my own.

This concept I started wrestling with it back in the 1980s!!! Here is the first sketch.

Side note: I didn't take the time to finish the pencil draft. Proper preparation prevents poor performance. Take the time to do the homework completely.

I took another shot at it a few years later. Some elemetns worked-some did not and I really hadn't mastered pastels at that point. (I thought I had, but no. Got a little in over my head.)

But perseverance pays too and here is the final (Tickled) So that was just 15 years of try try again, but time well spent.

Does everything take me 15 years? Thankfully not. Nocturne only took me five years. (!!!) - prints available in store.

And while you're there, check out the 2026 calendars. See something you like?

BOOKSHELF:

In the quiet hours, before bed, I like to read. Recent selection: Angel Down- Daniel Kraus.

Gritty, crude, visceral and graphic are a few words to describe this book. Also: powerful, elegant, heartbreaking and breathtaking. Deftly and gently, Kraus reflects upon the flawed, bitter nature of man, war and also, the spirit of grace that is given to us all.
