Mole Has Lost His Spectacles

The Wind in the Willows

Kenneth Grahame

Do you remember the first time you read The Wind in the Willows? Or who read it to you? My family had a wonderful edition illustrated by Paul Bransom. I was flipping through the color plates long before I could actually understand the words.

There is something calming in the spirit in this book even as Mole is pinched with spring fever and hurries out of doors to bump into Rat who knows the river like the back of his paw and introduces Mole, the some success, to boating. The reader glides through the seasons with Rat and Mole, meeting Toad in the warm summer days thick with adventure and introducing the elusive thoughtful Badger in the crisp cold of winter.

Beloved for generations, The Wind in the Willows is a wonderful tale of friendship, adventure.
